I am a homeschooling mom of two who is passionate about Jesus, family,
education, cycling, and SEC sports. I began writing at the age of nine when I wrote and won my first writing award for my short story “The Case of the Better Detective.” Award might be an exaggeration, but it was declared Best Short Story in Fifth Grade by Mrs. Willingham. Since then, writing has been my favorite past time.
I always knew I wanted to homeschool,so it was no surprise when I persuaded my husband to share my vision for educating our children. This blog details the lessons not only my children learn but also the ones I pick up along the way. Education has become a way of life and one that I love to share with my readers. I have a master’s degree in education and after spending several years teaching middle school language arts decided to stay home with my children. So, this blog also communicates my passion for children’s literature, curriculum, and all things teaching. I hope you’ll join us as we school off the beaten path. Homeschooling is an adventure that challenges and inspires me daily. It is my mission to be honest about the struggles and triumphs our journey brings.
